What is eChallan?

ePayments through eChallan (Government Receipt Accounting System)


The Government of Himachal Pradesh has implemented an online mode for receiving government receipts. To facilitate this process, a standardized challan form has been introduced and can be accessed through the e-Challan portal of the Department of Treasuries, Accounts, and Lotteries. Individuals who wish to deposit government funds can take advantage of this convenient facility by logging into the system. Currently, the government of Himachal Pradesh has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with several banks, the list of which is available on the portal. Customers holding net banking accounts with these banks can make online payments through the designated portal. The online challan facility is accessible 24/7, allowing customers to make payments from anywhere using the internet, according to their preferred options specified in the challan form.

Furthermore, a provision has also been made to generate a challan for manual payment at the treasury bank counter.
